Unexpected photo op
Look who we ran into on the train platform in Levanto, waiting to go to Monterosso - none other than RICK STEVES!! He was also on his way to Monterosso, so we were on the same train.
There was a mother and daughter couple in our group. As we were on the bus, about to leave Bolzano for the Riviera, the mom could not find her phone. She thought she must have left it in the breakfast room. She and Michela went back to look for it. In the meantime, her daughter called her mom's phone while on the bus, and heard it ringing. Thinking it might be in the suitcase in the bus luggage compartment, our driver opened it to get the suitcase. Turns out, it was on the bus between the seat and the side of the bus.
That incident made us about 20 minutes off schedule, but if that had not happened, we would have missed Rick! All things happen for a reason!
